groups of Colonies, of India, and of Egypt and that any
receipts for copyright that may accrue to this Colony from
the adaptation shall be placed to the credit of the same
fund.

That this fund shall be available
for the purchase of further lanterns and slides or for the
preparation of illustrated lectures on the Colony for use
in the schools of the United Kingdom. (I assume the refe-
-rence to "schools of the United States" in paragraph 9 of
the Despatch to be a clerical error.)
(iv.)
That the preparation or at any
rate the final supervision of the illustrated lectures on
the Colony should be entrusted to Mr. J. H. Mackinder, pre-
-sumably on terms to be arranged.
(v.)
That distinct from these lectures
on the Colony an edition of the lectures that have already
been drawn up for use in the Colony should be prepared for
use in the United Kingdom by Mr. Mackinder on terms to be
arranged.
I agree to proposals (1) and (ii)
in the foregoing paragraph. With regard to (iii) I prefer
that for the present the funds should be kept for the pur-
-chase of further lanterns and slides. As to (iv) I consider
